SOME 431 recipients from the Ministry of Education (MoE) received the Long Service Medal or Pingat Kerja Lama (PKL) yesterday during a ceremony held at the International Convention Centre.
The medals were presented by the Minister of Education, Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman, who was the guest of honour, in conjunction with the 68th and 69th birthday celebrations of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah
ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
In his remarks, the minister said the medals signify the loyalty and commitment of each recipient in performing their duties and responsibilities in serving in His Majesty’s Government for at least two decades.
“I hope all the recipients will continue to stay motivated and work together for the benefit of our nation,” he added.
Also present was Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, Deputy Minister of Education.
