BRUNEI’S wushu team yesterday had a successful haul of medals at the Huangshan Wushu International Competition currently taking place in China by bagging two gold medals and a silver medal.
Md Sufi Shayiran bin Roslan won gold at the Nan Gun event with the score 9.04 while his brother Mohd Adi Sya’Rani bin Roslan also won gold in the Chang Quan event by finishing with 8.92 points.
Brunei’s only silver for the day came from Mohd Adi Salihin bin Roslan in the Nan Dao event where he scored a total of 8.85 points.
The Brunei’s wushu brothers did the country proud with three gold and two silver medals to cap off the championship.
National wushu coach Li Hui in an interview said, “I am very satisfied with the performances of our athletes. I can see that our athletes have improved during the competition and we will be making preparation as well as training to compete in next year’s Southeast Asian Games in Malaysia.”
