BRUNEI Darussalam striker Shahrazen Said has been named top scorer in the AFC Solidarity Cup after netting four goals and providing one assist in the recently-concluded competition in Kuching, Malaysia.

The award marked the second individual accomplishment in a matter of days for the player after becoming the country’s record goal-scorer with eight goals in 20 appearances on Saturday.

Shahrazen grabbed a brace in the 3-2 loss to Laos in the third place playoff adding to the solitary strikes he managed in the 4-0 win over Timor Leste and the penalty shoot-out defeat to Macau in the semi-finals.

The DPMM FC star has also provided an assist to club teammate Azwan Ali in the opening game against Timor Leste.

The striker has shared the lead at the top of the goal-scoring charts with Laos’ Xaisongkham Champathong and Macau’s Nicholas Torrao but an assist tipped the balance in the Bruneian’s favour.

The striker has previously accomplished a top scorer award at club level where he shared with Perak FA’s Keita Mandjou with 21 goals apiece during DPMM FC’s brief stay at the Malaysia Premier League in the 2006/07 season.
