THE Embassy of Japan in Brunei Darussalam in cooperation with the High Commission of Canada in Brunei Darussalam and with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) will be hosting the upcoming 3rd edition World Assembly for Women: WAW! Brunei Darussalam 2016 seminar.
The event will carry the theme ‘Entrepreneurs-Women-Technology: Crossing the Glass Border’, Japanese Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam, Noriko Iki said in a press conference held yesterday at the Embassy of Japan, Kiulap. Also at the press conference were Canadian High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam, Marina Laker, CEO of BAG Networks Haslina binti Haji Mohd Taib and Deputy Director of Social Services, MCYS Hajah Noridah binti Abdul Hamid.
The event will be held at the CAE Brunei Multi-Purpose Training Centre (MPTC) in Rimba on December 5. The seminar will feature talks by two eminent female businesswomen, namely, CEO of Y’s Staff as well as Telework Management Yuri Tazawa from Japan and CEO of BAG Networks Haslina. A networking reception will also be held at the end of the event.
The World Assembly for Women: WAW! 2016 will be held in Tokyo on December 13-14, 2016.
The seminar aims to promote the realisation of ‘A society where women shine”, a concept first conceived by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in 2013. The first ‘World Assembly for Women’ was held in September 2014.
