A FIRE broke out early morning yesterday, causing major damage to a shop in Kampong Serusop.
Mulyono, one of the workers who lived on the first floor of the same building was shocked after his neighbour alerted him to the blaze and thick smoke coming out from inside the shop.
He told the Bulletin that he rushed down to the scene and immediately made a distress call to the Fire and Rescue Department at around 6am.
According to a press statement from the Fire and Rescue Department, 15 fire personnel led by Senior Superintendent Nooraflan bin Kachi were deployed to the scene. Four fire engines from the Women Operational Unit, Berakas Fire Station and Lambak Kanan Fire Station were also deployed to put out the blaze.
The cause of fire is still under investigation. No injuries were reported.
