BRUNEI Darussalam bagged a gold and a silver at the BIMP-EAGA Friendship Games 2016 in Samarinda yesterday.
Brunei’s first gold medal was courtesy of Muhammad Noor Firdaus Ar-Rashid bin Haji Mohd Idris in the 100m athletics event.
Haji Muhd Nur Zul Isamuddin bin Wan Zulaini took home the silver in the shot put event.
Brunei’s speak takraw team is also enjoying a good run in the tournament, having clinched a spot in the semifinals of the Regu event.
Silat exponent Anisah Najihah binti Abdullah is also guaranteed at least a silver medal after securing a place in the final.
In Karatedo, Awangku Mohd Azeem Aqmal bin Pengiran Omar was defeated in the quarterfinals 3-2 by Stefanus Josua of West Kalimantan in the individual kata.
