THE State Mufti’s Office has published three new books that cover religious issues affecting Muslims in the Sultanate as well as across the world.

The books are Fatwa Mufti Kerajaan 2015, Irsyad Hukum 2015 and Fatwa of the State Mufti 2000.

These books will serve as medium in assisting the Muslims to clear doubts on religious matters, Haji Mohiddin bin Haji Mustapha, Head of Production and Publication Section at the State Mufti’s Office, said in a media conference yesterday.

Till date, he said, the State Mufti’s Office has produced a total of 106 books in line with its commitment to disseminate the teaching of Islam and provide a channel of guidance for the Muslims in facing their issues.

The Fatwa Mufti Kerajaan 2015 is a 190-page book containing the State’s Mufti fatwa throughout 2015. The book provides the State Mufti’s answers to the questions posed by various local and international media. The book also serves as a platform for readers to make easy reference on Fatwas which are divided into categories such as Aqidah, Ibadat, Muamalat, Akhlak and many more.

Among interesting issues that have been discussed in this book is how to manage the dead body of a person who was diagnosed with Ebola virus and how to handle donations from non-Muslims to construct a mosque, and so on.

Meanwhile, Irsyad Hukum 2015 consists of guidelines on Islamic law for the Muslims to learn and understand. The book is divided into 35 topics of discussion in different categories.

The 404-page Fatwa of the State Mufti 2000 is a translation of the Fatwa Mufti Kerajaan 2000 which was published in 2001. The book contains 50 answers of the State Mufti to questions received from various quarters. In order to make this book easy for reference, it is divided into 11 categories which include Aqidah, Ibadat, Muamalat, Ahwal Syakhsiyah, Syari’yyah, Zikir, Doa and Wirid.

In conjunction with the mass celebration of Maulud Nabi on December 12, the State Mufti’s Office will set up a booth for selling these books and other publications. The publications will also be on sale at Padang Bandaran in Kuala Belait on the same day.

In addition, the State Mufti’s Office will participate in the Malaysia Book Expo organised by the Yayasan Pembangunan Buku Negara from December 14 to 18.

The new books, which are currently on sale at the Publishing and Information Division of the State Mufti’s Office, DarulIfta, Jalan Pengiran Babu Raja, will hit the local bookshops soon.
