THE Brunei contingent that enjoyed a memorable outing at the 9th BIMP-EAGA Friendly Games in Samarinda, East Kalimantan, returned home late Sunday evening via military aircraft at Rimba Airforce Base.
The contingent brought home four gold and two bronze medals from three events.
The athletes bagged two golds and a silver in athletics, a gold and one silver in sepak taktaw, and a gold in pencak silat.
They were welcomed by Minister of Culture, Youths and Sports, YB Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof at the Rimba Airforce Base.
The athletes had a photo session with the minister, who congratulated the team on their exploits.
The contingent was led by Chef de Mission, Awang Haji Mohamad Rosfazillah bin Haji Yusly.
This was the first time, the contingent flew with a military aircraft CN 235, No 15 Squadron of the Royal Brunei Airforce.
