TABUNG Amanah Islam Brunei (TAIB) continued its ‘Tarbiyyah Programme for Kids’ yesterday in the Tutong District.
The programme which was introduced by Dr Hajah Mona Yati binti Dato Seri Laila Jasa Haji Mohd Kassim, founder of muBn Learning and Growth Company, is an innovative approach ‘Islamic-Driven’ enrichment programme for children that since its introduction in December 2015 has helped many young minds develop strong spiritual awareness and moral etiquette based on the teachings of Islam and the scientific revelation and reasoning of the Al-Quran, Hadith and Sunnah.
Previously, TAIB organised similar programmes in other districts, as part of TAIB 25th anniversary.
The programme was held at Serambangun Hall, Tutong, where TAIB invited selected children from the underprivileged community in the Tutong District.
Fifty underprivileged children aged between four and nine years old in the Tutong District were invited to take part in the programme.
Hajah Zazarina binti Haji Zainuddin, Senior Executive Officer, Event management of TAIB, said, “The Tarbiyyah programme is a practical learning approach and aligns to TAIB’s CSR focus particularly in education.
“The programme was organised with the objective to develop knowledge and creativity among the children.”
During the event, the kids wore T-shirts with the slogan ‘Ask me about Tarbiyyah’. TAIB hoped that by the end of the programme, the children would be enriched.
The programme also encourages the children to be proud of their Muslim identity and strengthens their understanding on the history of Islam through the ‘play and pray’ approach.
The programme and classes also teach children about the greatness of Allah the Almighty in their everyday lives and how science, math, animals are all Allah’s creation. TAIB said classes in the remaining districts will be held until December 24, 2016.
Yesterday’s activities included Sunnat Doha prayer, learning Arabic alphabets the fun way while doing aerobics movements, Islamic-driven origami activities, as well as lessons on food considered beneficial in Islam such as dates, milk, honey, raisin, etc.
