THE Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia yesterday afternoon made a social visit to the Centre for Children with Special Needs (KACA) in Kuala Belait.
The embassy delegation was led by the Indonesian Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam, Nurul Qomar.
The visit was held in conjunction with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which is celebrated annually on December 3.
It was also to cultivate and strengthen relations between the embassy and the people of Brunei.
Nurul Qomar and the embassy’s staff members were warmly welcomed by the Managing Director of KACA, Haji Awang Abdul Alim bin Haji Awang Othman, at the association’s building in KB.
During the visit, the ambassador met with KACA’s staff members and children with disabilities at the centre.
The delegates had a tour of the facilities within its premises.
The ambassador also handed over donations, such as stationeries as well as educational and outdoor tools.
At the end of the visit, the ambassador expressed her gratitude to the managing director and staff for their warm welcome.
She also expressed her hope that the visit would not only strengthen their friendship and social ties, but also increase public awareness on the centre’s responsibility in providing the necessary assistance to people with disabilities.
