ONE of Thailand’s most popular Thai tea brands, ChaTraMue, has made its debut with the opening of its first franchise in Brunei during a ceremony yesterday held at its premises in Delima, Serusop.

Present to officiate the ceremony was Biravij Suwanpradhes, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Brunei Darussalam.

The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah followed by a brief video presentation that featured the background of ChaTraMue. The guest of honour and invited guests were later treated to a ChaTraMue’s Thai tea mixing demonstration.

Biravij Suwanpradhes, in an interview with the Bulletin, said that the taste of ChaTraMue brings back old memories and that it was a ‘taste of home’.

“ChaTraMue has proven itself as a quality product and I think that they are going to do well in the Brunei market,” he added.

ChaTraMue is a café that specialises in Thai products such as Cha-Yen (Red Thai Tea). It has been a favorite among Bruneians who visit Thailand. The local interest pushed ChaTraMue to open a branch in the Sultanate, according to a ChaTraMue Brunei representative.

He added that when visiting Thailand, his family fell in love with products such as Red Thai Tea, Green Tea and other Thai beverages.
