A PERSONAL Contact Programme, one of the ongoing activities held to foster closer collaborations in community affairs by the Information Department of the Prime Minister’s Office through its Public Relations Unit, was held recently at the residence of Pengiran Haji Abdul Rahman bin Pengiran Haji Zainal, Village Head of Kampong Sungai Matan and Acting Village Head of Kampong Sungai Bunga.

The programme is a strategy by the department to improve the bilateral relations between the government and the people on a personal level, acting as a platform for delivering government policies and intentions, a press release said. It is also held to receive issues, opinions and suggestions for the government.

Among the topics discussed were the introduction of the digital and online version of the Pelita Brunei – ‘e-Pelita’, the use of flags, banners and “materials that are of national importance”, and reading materials on Brunei Vision 2035 and the Syariah Penal Code Order 2013.

The programme also aimed to promote the development of sub-districts and villages, especially those with products that can be introduced via the Kenali Negara Kitani (KNK) articles published in Pelita Brunei.

The Information Department delegation was welcomed by the village head and members of the Village Consultative Council (MPK) of Kampong Sungai Matan and Kampong Sungai Bunga and the Women’s Bureau of the villages. Leading the delegation was Acting Deputy Director of Information, Hajah Noorashidah binti Haji Aliomar.
