AIMED at instilling a sense of unity among residents of Jalan Sungai Carana in Kampong Panchor Mengkubau National Housing Scheme and to mark the current school holiday, fun-filled activities themed ‘Let Us Be There’ will be held from December 29 to 30, 2016.
The project is one of the activities conducted by the sub-committee of Jalan Sungai Carana, the second such event following the family fun activity held recently, with the support from the Village Consultative Council of Kampong Panchor Mengkubau.
The executive secretary of the committee, Hajah Shamsiniah binti Haji Kepli, said the project among other things aims to fill the leisure time of children and develop their minds through a variety of educational activities.
The project is also intended to foster a spirit of cooperation, understanding and healthy interaction among residents of the housing scheme and the surrounding areas.
The project will run from 2pm to 10.30pm on December 29, while on the second day it will be from 3pm to 11.30pm.
Over 20 stalls will be open to the public that will showcase various types of food, drinks, accessories, clothing and so on for sale. The event will also feature games to enliven the atmosphere such as Lollipop Tree, Ring Toss, Balloon Pops, Feed Me, Bowling Toss, Golf, Dart Ball, Frisbee Toss, Shoot Me, Catch the Chicks and Bouncer.
In addition to entertainment, memorisation of Surah Al-Fatihah for girls will be held in the evening of December 29.
To nurture the ability of children to express themselves in public and encourage them to practise Al-Quran reading, a call for prayer (Azan) competition for boys aged seven-12 years will also be held.
