THE ‘End-of-Year Sale 2016’, which commenced recently at the Dermaga Diraja in the capital in enlivening in welcoming the new year, is promoting various local products and fresh packaging for seafood products produced by members of the Village Consultative Councils (MPKs) under the ‘One Village, One Product’ initiative.
The event will run for 10 days until January 2, 2017.
In an interview with Mohd Hasmawi bin Ghani, the manager of MHG Event Entertainment and Services, who is the organiser of the event, around 50 stalls have been set up for the participating vendors. This includes the village consultative councils and small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
Among the participating vendors include MPKs from Kampong Sungai Matan, Putat, Mentiri, Limau Manis and Sungai Bunga.
According to him, the event is aimed at supporting to the Brunei-Muara District Office in enlivening the atmosphere within the capital city, where the ‘Bandarku Ceria’ takes place.
He further added that the event was being organised to encourage locals to do more shopping within the country, especially during the school holidays.
“Alhamdulillah, the response from the participants has been encouraging. We are still making available several slots for any vendors who would like to take part in this event for an affordable fee,” he continued.
The event, which is open from 10am to 10pm and from 6am to 10pm on Sunday, is open to the public.
