IN CONJUNCTION with the 96th Police Day which is celebrated every January 1, the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) held Doa Kesyukuran ceremonies at the Surau of the RBPF Headquarters in Gadong and the Surau of Penaga Police Headquarters in the Belait District.
Present as the guest of honour was Dato Paduka Seri Haji Mohd Jammy bin Haji Muhd Shah Al-Islam, the Commissioner of Police, while for the Belait District, the guest of honour was Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police (SAC) Mohammad Irwan bin Haji Hambali, Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police.
The event began after mass Maghrib prayer and Sunnat Hajat prayer. The event then continued with the recitation of Tahlil and Doa Arwah.
This was followed by the Doa Kesyukuran and a mass Isyak prayer.
The ceremonies were attended by officers and personnel of the RBPF as well as staff.
The RBPF also invited former police commissioners, retired police officers, Penghulus and village heads as well as Neighbourhood Watch groups from the Brunei-Muara and Tutong districts, and police cadets.
The event was intended to strengthen the bond between those present during the ceremony, to appreciate the service of former police officers and to encourage present members of RBPF in their line of work, which is to maintain the peace of the Sultanate.
