SOME 200 cycling enthusiasts gathered last night to participate in the first-ever “Night Ride” cycling event held in the capital.
Organised by the Brunei Folding Bike Club, the night cycling aimed to promote healthy lifestyle through cycling as well as night cycling safety.
Speaking to the Bulletin, Mewsum Wong – founder and event organiser – expressed her delight over the huge turnout of the event.
“The 22-kilometre ride begins at the grand staircase of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium, up to Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien through Jalan Kebangsaan, before cycling back to stadium.
“Founded just two weeks ago, we are now numbering up to 600 members from all over Brunei. We also hope to host monthly night rides, bike races as well as other activities in the near future.”
