THE first national badminton player to compete in the Olympics, Jaspar Yu Woon Chai, and Olympics coach Zuno Kartuno bin Haji Ali yesterday morning gave inspiring talks to the Year 8 students of Lambak Kiri Secondary School.
Organised by the school’s CCA committee on ‘Education and Sports’, the talks were aimed at inspiring students to work hard and never give up on achieving their dream.
According to a release from the school, Jaspar shared his journey, stories and experience of participating in the Rio Olympics last year in Brazil.
He also touched on the highlight videos of his two matches during the Olympics and spoke on the importance of education in pursuing his dream.

Meanwhile, Jaspar’s coach Zuno Kartuno encouraged the students to take part in more sporting activities, particularly badminton.
The highlights of yesterday’s event included a mini badminton match with the students and school’s staff members.
The session closed with a presentation of souvenirs to the guests and speakers as tokens of appreciation for their meaningful contribution.
