IN A continued effort to make sure the smooth start of new students in schools and to boost their motivation, Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman, the Minister of Education, personally went to visit two schools in the Brunei-Muara District.
Accompanying the minister was Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, the Deputy Minister of Education.
The minister visited the Rimba I Primary School, Cluster 4 where he was welcomed by Aji binti Haji Ahmad, Headmistress of Rimba I Primary School and Hajah Suriani binti Haji Noor Hashim, the Head of Cluster 4.
Currently there are some 422 students with a teaching force of 43 at the school.
During the visit, the minister and officials also witnessed activities in the classroom in the preschool block.
The tour continued on to the classes to take a closer look at the learning journey of students and the minister also took time to speak with them.
The minister then proceeded to visit Rimba II Primary School, Cluster 4 where the Headmistress Chantal Valerie Brimiah and the Head of Cluster 4 were on hand to welcome the minister’s arrival.
At the school, the minister was given a briefing on the preparation and implementation of registration as well as receiving new students during the orientation for the start of preschool that will start on January 9.
The minister also visited some of the classrooms in session.
Before concluding the visit, Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi joined the School Development Plan 2017 dialogue and sharing session with the principal.
Currently, Rimba II Primary School has 551 students with 57 members of the teaching force.
The aim of the visits was to observe and see the facilities and policies that are carried out in both schools.
Joining the visits were Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, Permanent Secretary (Core Education) at the Ministry of Education; Haji Abdul Rahim bin Derus, Director General of Education; and others.
