THE world’s largest furniture manufacturing company, Ashley Furniture Industries opened its first homestore in Brunei Darussalam yesterday, offering a wide-selection and full-line of stylish furnishing and home decor at affordable prices.
The American furniture company is the largest manufacturer of furniture in the world with major manufacturing facilities in the US and beyond, supplying over 6,000 retail partners in 123 countries and delivering over 30 million pieces of furniture worldwide.
Their wide product ranges are sold worldwide at over 670 Ashley Furniture HomeStore chains and thousands of other retailers.
Brunei’s first Ashley Furniture HomeStore in Jalan Jerudong opened its doors in a grand opening ceremony yesterday, attended by the US Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam, Craig Allen, as guest of honour.
To mark the opening, Directors of Jackhan Sdn Bhd who is the authorised licensee of Ashley Furniture HomeStore in Brunei, Mohd Akip bin Haji Abdullah and Jason Son together with the US Ambassador took part in a ribbon cutting ceremony.
Also joining the ribbon-cutting ceremony were Robin Lim, Vice-President of International Sales Asia Ashley Furniture; Jason Lee, International Marketing Specialist of Ashley for Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Taiwan and Hong Kong and Miss Geraldine, General Manager of Jackhan Sdn Bhd.

As part of the company’s commitment and philosophy of giving back to the community, the ceremony also saw the presentation of cash donations of BND3,000 respectively to three charities – Pengiran Muda Mahkota Al-Muhtadee Billah Fund for Orphans (DANA), Society for the Management of Autism Related issues in Training, Education and Resources (SMARTER) Brunei and Centre for Children with Special Needs (KACA).
Mohd Akip in his speech said they are excited to bring in new breath of air to the furniture industry in the country, hoping that it will help boost local employment as it looks to expand its presence here.
Founded in 1945, Ashley Furniture is now the number one furniture manufacturer in the world and their retail stores carry an extensive line of living room, dining room, bedroom and home office furnishings.
Their stores also feature a wide range of accessories for home interior, comprising collections of vintage casual, urbanology, new traditions, family spaces and contemporary living.
As part of its grand opening promotion, Ashley Furniture HomeStore is offering special prices for a limited quantity of its recliner chair until January 13 and is also offering store-wide discounts as part of the Brunei Salebration until January 31.
