THE Persatuan Warganegara Malaysia (PWM) or Malaysian Association, will be ushering the Year of the Rooster on Feb 25, 2017 at Hua Ho Manggis Mall at 7pm with a ceremony to reward students who have achieved remarkable academic results last year.
The Students’ Academic Excellence Awards which is a main highlight during the annual Chinese New Year celebration for children of members in PWM who are residing and attending school in Brunei Darussalam.
The aim of the award is an effort to help the Malaysian government’s aspiration and efforts in emphasising the importance of education and professional pursuits.
The criteria for applicants of Years 1 to 3 are that students must achieve a minimum result of an average of 90 marks and above or 5As. While for Years 4 and 5 students, applicants must achieve the minimum result of an average of 85 marks and above or 5As.
For Year 6 students, they must achieve the minimum Primary School Assessment (PSR) result of 4A +1B (only the latest Ministry of Education issued results slip or report would be considered).
For Year 7 and Year 8 students must achieve the minimum result of an average of 80 marks and above. While Year 9 or Year 9 Express must achieve the minimum result of 5As, or the minimum result of an average of 80 marks and above (only the latest Ministry of Education-issued results slip or report would be considered).
Year 10 or Year 10 Express students must have the minimum result of an average of 75 marks and above and Year 11 students must achieve the minimum result of an average of 75 marks and above, or the minimum (GCE) result of 4As & 1B.
Year 12 students and Year 13 students must achieve the minimum school results of 2As +1B, or the minimum school results of 33 points.
