FIRST Admiral (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit, the Deputy Minister of Defence, has received a courtesy call from Major General (Pilot) Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Shehri, War Wing Commander of the Command and Staff College, Ministry of Defence of Saudi Arabia.
During the call, the deputy minister of defence welcomed Major General (Pilot) Abdullah to Brunei Darussalam and both sides expressed their satisfaction with the friendly relations between the two countries.
Both sides also looked forward to explore the possible cooperation that can be further developed particularly in trainings and courses towards the enhancement of the overall bilateral defence relationship. Major General (Pilot) Abdullah, who is heading a delegation of 21 officers comprising of instructors and students from the Ministry of Defence of Saudi Arabia’s Command and Staff College, is in Brunei Darussalam from January 6-13 on a study visit.
The Deputy Minister of Defence was in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on January 26-29, 2016 for a working visit and also on March 10, 2016 to observe the Northern Thunder military exercise.
The last senior officials from the Ministry of Defence of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to visit Brunei Darussalam were Major General Staff Pilot Hussein bin Mohammed Alassaf and Brigadier General Mashari Saad Al-Ghunaim in April 2016.
