THE National Religious Programme was held at religious schools throughout the Sultanate yesterday.
The Islamic Studies Department hoped to increase the number of pupils attending co-curriculum activities in religious and Arabic schools with this programme.
In the Brunei-Muara District, the monthly religious programme was held at the Bandar Seri Begawan Arabic Preparatory School (SPA BSB) where nearly 476 Year 6 students together with teachers attended the programme.
The morning programme included religious talk, Tazkirah, Tausyeh and Doa. The programme is held every month to encourage teachers and students to read the Al-Quran daily.
Present was the Principal of SPA BSB, Ustazah Sarimah binti Haji Ahmad.
Similar gatherings were held concurrently at Pelambayan Religious School for the afternoon session together with Sungai Liang Religious School for Belait District, while in Tutong and Temburong districts, the programme was conducted at Tanjong Maya Religious School and Pengiran Muda Mohammed Bolkiah Religious School, respectively.
It is hoped that the programme can widen the students’ knowledge and the direct involvement of teachers in the activities can help reinforce the educational programmes.
The theme of this year programme is ‘Persiapan Awal Tahun Persekolahan’.
