PEHIN Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, the Minister of Religious Affairs yesterday made a working visit to Institut Tahfiz Al-Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (ITQSHHB).
The visit was aimed at taking a closer look at the development of the institute in upgrading students’ educational achievement.
The minister visited students in the Musolla ITQSHHB, Year 11A, Year 8L1, Year 10BL, Year 3 Qiraat Amali Course and Year 2 Arabic Language Course.
During the visit to the classes, the minister took the opportunity to review lessons in Qiraat and Hafazan Al-Quran, Arabic Language Literature in Al-Quran and also Fiqh studies.
During the visit, there was also a briefing and discussion session delivered by Pengiran Haji Haslin bin Pengiran Haji Ali, Acting Principal of ITQSHHB.
Participating in the discussion, the minister urged ITQSHHB and the Al-Quran Research and Dissemination Centre MABIMS to diversify efforts and methods in channelling the understanding of the Al-Quran among students and the community, apart from the objective of producing Huffaz Al-Quran.
He also told the institutions to look for opportunities in upgrading and developing cooperation in matters relating to the studies of Al-Quran and Qiraat Al-Quran.
Also present during the working visit was Dato Seri Setia Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Mohd Yusof, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
