YANG Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Muntaqim ibni Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Paduka Seri Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah claimed bronze alongside his International School Brunei team-mates in the 200m freestyle relay in the Federation of British International Schools in Asia (FOBISIA) Invitational 2017 at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex Swimming Pool yesterday.
Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Muntaqim, who was joined by Anastase Guillou, Joel Ling and Luka Travers Moffitt, clocked a personal best of 2:29.02, trimming a previous time of 2:33.41.
Yang Teramat Mulia also set a personal best in the 50m freestyle when he clocked 38.63s, eclipsing his previous mark of 41.10s.
Meanwhile, International School Brunei junior swimmer Isha Chen impressed after capturing four golds in six of her individual events adding to her gold medal successes in the 4x50m freestyle relay and the 4x50m medley relay.
The 10-year old struck double gold in the 50m and 100m backstroke as well as in the 100m butterfly and 50m freestyle.
She also clinched silver in the 100m freestyle and bettered her personal best in the 50m butterfly with a time of 39.81s.
In recognition for her haul of medals, Isha was also awarded the best performer trophy for 9-10 year old girls category.
Zeke Chan of Jerudong International School also had a relatively successful outing after clinching silver in the 100m butterfly and bronze in the 200m IM.
He followed up his two medal wins by breaking his personal bests in the 100m breaststroke with a time of 1:53.15, 200m freestyle with a time of 2:48.17 and 100m freestyle with a time of 1:18.86.
Both of the junior swimmers were guided under the tutelage of reputable coach Victor Tan.
