RED Crescent Society (Belait Branch) Assistant Director Lim Thian Ming yesterday opened the doors to his open house to an estimated 900 students and orphans from various organisations that included Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam (Pusat Ehsan) and the Centre for Children with Special Needs (KACA).
The guests were treated to an array of food and drinks, before leaving with an ang pao (red packet).
The day also saw a spectacular performance staged by the Chung Hwa Lion Dance troupe from Labi.
Lion dance performances are a tradition during the Lunar Chinese New Year celebrations.
Speaking to the Bulletin, Lim Thian Ming said “We saw substantially more students and orphans attending our open house today, compared to last year. Overall, I am happy with the turn out.”
