HIS Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday led the Black Team to the final of the Richard Mille Polo Tournament after a 10-6 victory at the Royal Brunei Polo and Riding Club yesterday.
His Majesty neatly set up team-mate Her Royal Highness Princess ‘Azemah Ni’matul Bolkiah for a goal before Her Royal Highness added a flurry of goals to present the Black Team a commanding lead going into the next chukka.
Also in attendance during the polo match was His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah.
The White Team, which was led by Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Muda Abdul Qawi, were chasing the resurgent Black Team in all four chukkas 2-0 in the first chukka, 5-2 in the second and 7-4 in the third before falling to a 10-6 defeat with the unstoppable Her Royal Highness at the top of her game.
Meanwhile, the Grey Team led by His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah, booked their place in Sunday’s final after edging the Red Team, which was led by Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul ‘Ali Yil-Kabier, 6-5 in a tightly-contested encounter.
The White Team will square off against the Red Team for third place before the main event which is the final between the Black and Grey Team.
Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Muda Bahar also represented the Grey Team and will be part of the team in Sunday’s showpiece.
