Mix of youth and experience for Labuan lawn bowl meet

WISDOM Lawn Bowls Club (WBC) incessantly gives the opportunity to players to continue to compete in lawn bowling at all levels.

This time WBC will send three teams to compete in the International Lawn Bowls Championships, in conjunction with Federal Territory Day which will take place February 24-26 in Labuan, Malaysia.

The teams includes a blend of six players from the senior and junior squads.

Recently President of WBC, Haji Johari Awang Achee, contributed personally to the players.

The presentation ceremony took place on the last day of training at the Lawn Bowls Centre of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium Sports Complex in Berakas.

Also present at the ceremony were WBC’s Deputy President II, Haji Mohd Taha Hj Mohd Tahir and Head Coach of WBC, Haji Abdul Ghafar bin Pehin Orang Kaya Laksmana Dato Seri Setia Haji Mohd Taha.

Haji Johari pointed out that the players gave priority to discipline and to protect the good name of the country, as well as to give their best performances during the competition.

“By leveraging on the spirit of the 33rd National Day, the players’ patriotism will increase. I also hope that they will have great success to bring glory for the nation.”
