THE Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof received a courtesy call from Brigadier General Khairy Jamaluddin, Malaysia’s Minister of Youth and Sports, at Grandstand 3, Royal Brunei Polo and Riding Club.
During the courtesy call, the pair discussed and exchanged views as well as the delegation from Malaysia concerning the development of youth and sports and efforts currently being carried out in developing sports in both countries.
The visiting Minister of Youth and Sports is on a two-day visit to Brunei which ends today to attend the event “The Rising Together- Baton Run” in conjunction with the 29th SEA Games and the 9th Asean Para Games.
The Rising Together- Baton Run is an initiative of the Malaysian Government for the first time to hold the baton run in all of the Southeast Asian countries and Timor Leste to promote the 29th SEA Games and the 9th Asean Para Games which will be held in August in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Also present during the courtesy call was Dato Paduka Dr Haji Affendy bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
