THE Forestry Department, Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism (MPRT), hosted a mass Maghrib prayer ceremony at the Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah, Kampong Kiarong, in conjunction with the International Forestry Day 2017. The event also saw recitations of Surah Yaasiin, Doa Selamat and also mass Isyak prayer.
The guest of honour at the event was the Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Haji Apong. The congregation comprised heads of departments and divisions as well as officers, staff and operators of the ministry and departments under it.
The religious ceremony was organised by the Forestry Department as a curtain-raiser for other activities lined up to commemorate this year’s International Forestry Day.
Also in attendance were Dr Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin, Permanent Secretary at the MPRT and Wardi bin Haji Mohammad Ali, Deputy Per-manent Secretary (Tourism) at the MPRT.
