AUSTRALIAN swim coaches Joanne Love and Haydn Belshaw took the charge again at the ISB swimming pool on Wednesday, with over 40 teachers from both government and international school taking part in the ‘Learn To Swim’ workshop, that incorporated essential teaching techniques for the experienced and the less experienced swimmers.

With a wealth of experience in both theoretical and practical advice for the workshop participants, Joanne Love and Haydn Belshaw focused on the essential competencies on teaching swimming and water safety.

The lessons in the water included on being an effective swimming teacher, aquatic safety, survival and rescue skills, the principle of movement in the water, stroke development, and how to plan and deliver a swimming lesson.

The course is deemed an important process in the career of the participants, as it will teach them on fitness and safety as well as on critical life skills.

The techniques that were imparted on the workshop participants will go a long way in the strengthening and deepening the swimming coaching capacity in Brunei Darussalam.
