A LOCAL man and his family yesterday received a donation in the form of clothes after their house and belongings were destroyed in a fire on April 23, 2016 in Kampong Sungai Paku in Telisai, Tutong District.
The Tutong District Volunteers Group (SUKA), a non-government organisation (NGO) in Tutong District, handed over the donation to 64-year-old permanent resident King Chiew Phung and family.
The donation, which was handed over by SUKA Secretary Haji Saifulbahri bin Haji Umarali was the third one from the NGO in helping the needy.
The donation was collected through the NGO’s donation programme, ‘Contribute and Assist,’ that was launched during the Day of Action (DOA) in conjunction with the recent International Volunteerism Day.
Among those present at the donation handover ceremony was YB Awang Haji Ramli bin Haji Lahit, a member of the Legislative Council and Penghulu of Mukim Telisai.
