THE Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) yesterday organised the 9th Ihya Al-Tarbiyyah Al-Diniyyah at Ta’lim Hall of KUPU SB.
Pehin Siraja Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Dr Ustaz Haji Awang Yahya bin Haji Ibrahim delivered a lecture on ‘Pengenalan kepada Dikir Marhaban dan Pengenalannya di Brunei Darussalam’ that covered topics such as the history and background of Dikir, types of Dikir and ways of how Bruneians memorise Dikir.
He also suggested that KUPU SB should further expand other types of Dikir and introduce the Dikir to the students so they can understand and learn Dikir.
The chairman of the ceremony and Assistant Ra’es, Dr Abang Haji Hadzmin bin Abang Haji Taha said that the workshop can help in enhancing the quality of education, particularly for KUPU SB, and raise awareness on the importance of Selawat upon the prophet.

The event was attended by about 60 participants from government agencies and institutions Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) and Politeknik Brunei.
The two-day workshop which is facilitated by the lecturers of KUPU SB aimed to enhance the understanding of Dikir Marhaban and appreciation of the traditional Islamic practices of Dikir Marhaban.
Also in attendance were Acting Ra’es, Dr Haji Adanan bin Haji Besar and officers and staff members of KUPU SB.
