SIXTY of International School Brunei’s (ISB) Years 4, 5 and 6 students participated in the Brunei Junior Sports League (BJSL) T-Ball competition at Jerudong International School (JIS) yesterday.
Also participating for ISB were Her Royal Highness Princess Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah, Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Muntaqim ibni Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Paduka Seri Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak ‘Abdul Haseeb bin Pengiran Maharaja Setia Laila Diraja Sahibul Irshad Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Rahim.
The T-ball competition was tightly contested with strong teams on show from ISB Bandar, ISB Kuala Belait, JIS, Panaga School and Hornbill School. Teams from each year group and each school battled it out in round-robin style. While the ISB Year 6 team managed to claim the top spot in their division, the overall winners of the day were Panaga School followed by JIS in second, and ISB Bandar / Hornbill School in a two-way tie for third.
“The Brunei Junior Sports League comprises tournaments across the sports of Athletics, Football, Swimming, Tag Rugby and Netball and is a much needed source of competitive, inter-school sport for young kids in Brunei,” said ISB PE Teacher Grant Macpherson.
