BANK Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) yesterday lent its full support to the Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam (AMBD) Financial Fun Fair held at the Jerudong Park Colonnade.
For the event, BIBD prepared financial planning games and activities to highlight expenditure differences between needs and wants as well as wise financial management, while at the same time underlining the importance of budgeting.
Over 10 BIBD certified Islamic financial planners were on hand to assist the public, among them students, in the games and to better understand financial management.
BIBD Retail Banking Head Hajah Nurul Akmar binti Haji Md Jaafar said, “BIBD shares the commitment of helping to raise awareness on better financial management as early as possible. Alhamdulilah, with strong support from AMBD, not only does it ensure our youth will begin to mature their financial knowledge and capabilities earlier, they will also be able to prepare and apply this knowledge themselves for any unforeseen circumstances.”
BIBD’s participation at the event was also part of efforts to elevate financial literacy in Brunei Darussalam. This is evident with the frequent financial planning talks held for students and employees of various institutions.
