THE Lagoon Carpark in Kuala Belait was abuzz with activity over the weekend, with the Merch Fest allowing vendors to promote their Made-in-Brunei merchandise that included T-shirts and caps.
Held for the first time, the festival – dubbed ‘Odd One Out’ – featured 20 vendors, while food and drink stalls were also set up to cater to hungry visitors.
Some of the vendors are owners of small local businesses based in the Belait District, who received assistance from the Kampong Pandan C Village Consultative Council and the Housing Development Department under the Ministry of Development.
The participating vendors included oblimag, wardrobesinc, unksk8, unusual.co, ovds.bn, oddapparel.bn, heysupply.co, goransclothing, empat.co and badmedicine.bn, where as the other vendors that sells food, drinks and others includes redroosterhomecooking, brew_9, pistonhead_co, jln.artwear, maphraoawn, deshasicecream, rotijohnbalut.kb, southerncomfortbn, clipperkb, and sketch_one.
Speaking to the Bulletin, the vendors noted the festival was a great way to promote local brands in the country, allowing them to receive positive public feedback, and that they would consider participating in similar festivals in the future.
On the side, a skateboarding competition was held, pitting skateboarders against each other in a strong show of skills.
