SALVIN Opal yesterday played host to a ceremony to mark the start of Mashhor Offshore Painting Services (MOPS) Sdn Bhd’s offshore painting campaign, which started March 1, 2017.
Docked at the Kuala Belait Government Port located at Jalan Sungai specifically for the event, Salvin Opal is a vessel of Salvin Far East (M) Sdn Bhd, a Malaysian company providing offshore services including ship and project management, and ship chartering services.
It will be used as a utility support vessel (USV) for MOPS operations such as critical offshore work in the oil and gas industry and also as a means of transportation and accommodation.
Mashhor Group of Companies (MGCSB) Director Malai Haji Hamir bin Haji Malai Mashor attended the event alongside Sharifah Hajah Mariam binti Haji Malai Mashhor, MGCSB Finance and Administration Director; Haji Osman bin Haji Omar, MGCSB Deputy Director Corporate Affairs and Local Business Development (LBD); the Salvin Far East Management and Operations team; representatives from Brunei Shell Petroleum Co Sdn Bhd (BSP) and MOPS; and offshore crews.
In his speech, Malai Haji Hamir said, “MOPS will continue delivering excellent services to BSP and strive to continue working safely and exercise due caution in the hazardous offshore environment”.
Sharifah Hajah Mariam, meanwhile, pointed out the importance of teamwork, explaining that it is a key ingredient to a harmonious working environment.
The event was blessed with a Doa Selamat, while a cake cutting ceremony officially launched the offshore painting campaign.
MGCSB, with its highly trained, competent and motivated workforce, is a local company that provides a variety of quality engineering and construction services to the oil and gas industry in Brunei Darussalam.
