MORE than 163 students received awards during the Academic Excellency Award Ceremony for students across various schools in the Belait District.
The event was organised by the Brunei LNG Sdn Bhd at the Multipurpose Hall located in Liang Lumut Recreational Club (LLRC) recently.
The event highlighted the various achievements made by students of various primary and religious schools from Years 1-5 in Belait District, as well in ‘A’ Level, ‘O’ Level, Religious Education Primary Schools Certificate (SSSRU), and Primary School Assessment (PSR) examinations.
Thirty distinguished teachers from various schools in the Belait District also received awards to highlight their efforts and commitments in teaching.
The guest of honour was Roslan bin Haji Taja’ah, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Administrative and Financial) at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
Also present was Rafidah binti Rambli, Human Resource Manager and Public Relations for Brunei LNG Sdn Bhd.
The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah followed by the recitation of verses from Al-Quran by the students of Sungai Taring Religious School.
The guest of honour, in his speech, applauded the efforts made by Brunei LNG for continuously supporting the students’ education and their achievements through the event.
He hoped that this ceremony will motivate the students to achieve their goals and to be hard working.
He also noted that the student’s success is critical in achieving the Brunei Vision 2035.
Rafidah presented the awards to students in primary and religious schools from Years 1-5, who achieved excellent result in their examinations. These schools include, Sungai Liang Primary School, Lumut Primary School, Sungai Tali Primary School, Chung Lian School in Sungai Liang, Sungai Liang Religious School, Lumut Religious School, Sungai Tali Religous School, and Sungai Taring Religious School.
The guest of honour presented awards to the students who achieved excellent results in their ‘A’ Level, ‘O’ Level, SSSRU, and PSR examinations.
Apart from previously mentioned schools, the students who received the awards also came from Sayyidina Ali Secondary School, Tutong Sixth Form Centre, Panaga Religous School, Pengiran Anak Puteri Rasidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah Religious School, Sayyidina Ali Religious School, Panaga Primary School, Muhammad Alam Primary School, Pengiran Setia Negara Pengiran Mohd Yusof Primary School, Belait Arabic School, Chung Ching Middle School, Chung Hua Middle School, Tunas Jaya PGGMB School, St Angela’s School, St John’s School, St Margaret’s School, and St James’ School.
A series of awards were also given out to various schools for achieving excellent performance in their student’s education.
The award was presented by Dr Thomas Jenke, Director and Chief Executive Officer of Brunei LNG Sdn Bhd.
