COME get a feel of the true capabilities and raw power of Jaguar in the Art of Performance Tour Brunei, currently being held in the parking lot in front of the Royal Regalia Museum, Bandar Seri Begawan.
The two-day event was officially launched by Ben Boddy, Acting British High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam. The event, organised by Indera Motors Sdn Bhd in collaboration with Baiduri Bank, is split into three courses: Smart Cones, Driving Dynamic, and Orientation Challenge.
The courses are led by professional driving instructors from Pit Crew Events Pte Ltd (Singapore), while the flow and layout of the track has been designed by Megamas Training Company Sdn Bhd with the safety of the public and participants foremost in mind.
Brunei Darussalam is the third country in the Asia-Pacific region – after Taiwan and Hong Kong – to host the Art of Performance Tour.
Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Ghaffar bin Pengiran Indera Setia Diraja Sahibul Karib Pengiran Anak Haji Idris, Managing Director of Indera Motors Sdn Bhd in his remarks stated that the aim of Art of Performance Tour Brunei is to showcase the performance capabilities of Jaguar vehicles before the relocation of the company’s offices and showroom to new premises at the Beribi Industrial Area, which is currently under construction.
He added, “The new facilities will provide customers with a fantastic experience of our brands, Jaguar and Land Rover, with respect to both cars and services.”
Of the Art of Performance Tour, Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Ghaffar said it is an “unprecedented test drive with digital engagement.
“It is your chance to push yourself and Jaguar to the limits through exciting challenges,” he said. “Guided by expert instructors, you’ll experience a drive that only Jaguar can deliver and at the same time learn what the Jaguar DNA is. Therefore, I urge you to come prepared to put your driving skills to the test.”
The highlight of event is the Smart Cones segment. Commenting on it, Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Ghaffar said, “The Smart Cones use wireless technology to illuminate pairs of cones in random sequences to create a unique course for drivers to complete, taking the autocross to the next level by focusing more on accuracy and reaction times than speed.
The Acting British High Commissioner, who got the chance to drive in all three courses commented, “The first Smart Cones course was really exciting and truly gets your adrenalin pumping.”
He added, “This event has really set the benchmark (in terms of exciting events in the country).”
Alfred Yong Foh Sen, General Manager of Indera Motors Sdn Bhd, also lauded the event. “We’re very excited to have launched this memorable event; public response has been overwhelming with over 100 participants registered so far.”
Apart from the Art of Performance Tour, participants were also offered the chance to test drive other models from Jaguar and Land Rover, and get their hands on gift vouchers from Bake Culture. Jaguar and Land Rover merchandise were also available for purchase throughout the event.
Those interested can register to test drive the Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles at the Art of Performance Tour Brunei today from 12pm to 9pm at the parking lot in front of the Royal Regalia Museum.
