OVER 150 people took part in a 35km cycling for Tanjong Maya Ride 2017 yesterday. The event was co-organised by the Village Consultative Council of Kampong Tanjong Maya, Haji Sidi Cycling Clan, and Cycling Buddies.
YB Haji Abdul Wahab bin Apong, Legislative Council member and Penghulu of Mukim Tanjong Maya flagged-off the event as the guest of honour.
Pengiran Haji Abdul Salam bin Pengiran Haji Abdul Ghani, the Commanding Officer of the Tutong District Police Station took part in the event as a special guest.
The event was organised as one of the health recreational activity in conjunction with the Family Day 2017 on village level.
The event began with a recitation of Doa Selamat by Haji Nuin bin Haji Hassan, Imam of Kampong Tanjong Maya Mosque, Tutong.
The ride started from Tanjong Maya Community Hall, and to Bukit Beruang flyover, then to Pekan Tutong, Bukit Bendera – Tutong Camp traffic light – and back to the community hall.
The event also hoped to promote the importance of healthy living and to strengthen ties between the residents.
