AFTER nearly three decades of serving customers in Brunei Darussalam, Jollibee has named local actress, Liyana Yus, as the brand ambassador of Jollibee Brunei.
The announcement was made yesterday at the Times Square Shopping Centre in Berakas, and attended by Liyana Yus, together with Jhing Perias, the Country Head for Jollibee Brunei Darussalam; Leony Rodriguez, the Jollibee Head of Marketing; and Din Kamaluddin, a producer at Origin Artistic.
In a brief speech, Jhing Perias said that the management of Jollibee Brunei was delighted over its new partnership with one of Brunei’s youngest and brightest stars.
“We believe that Liyana embodies what makes Jollibee truly excellent and world-class,” he said, adding that “she’s incredibly talented, fun-loving and truly brings joy to her fellow Bruneians.”
Liyana responded by thanking Jollibee for naming her as its very first brand ambassador, outside of the Philippines.
“It’s incredibly exciting, because I grew up with Jollibee and I’ve enjoyed eating there with my family since I was young. In fact, Chickenjoy is still my favourite fried chicken,” said the new Jollibee ambassador.
Afterwards, Liyana Yus told the Weekend Bulletin that the experience was a rather surreal one for her, but also hoped that it would open up new opportunities and prospects.
Meanwhile, Jhing Perias said that Jollibee is further extending its presence in Brunei through the recent launching of the fast-food giant’s very first drive-through service in the region.
“This is also in response to the growing demand of Bruneians who love our Chickenjoy and our Jolly Spaghetti,” he said.
“Our unique style of preparing Chickenjoy is very well-received here. The crunchy and juicy fried chicken, eaten with delicious gravy is a hit with local palates.”
He also added that Jollibee was looking forward to more years of being the number one choice for fast food in Brunei Darussalam.
Jollibee was first launched in Brunei in 1987, as the first international branch for Manila-based fast-food chain, and has since expanded its business to 12 more outlets across the Sultanate.
Yesterday’s announcement was followed with a contract signing ceremony between Jhing Perias and Liyana Yus, witnessed by Din Kamaluddin.
