THE Pertiwi Association yesterday held a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony at the Mohamed Bolkiah Mosque in Kampong Serusop.
Present at the ceremony were the Vice President of Pertiwi, Datin Hajah Fatimah binti Dato Seri Setia Abang Haji Razali; Chairperson of Pertiwi, Datin Paduka Hajah Jusnani binti Haji Lawie; first runner up of the recent 59th International Al-Quran Recitation and Memorisation Competition in Kuala Lumpur, Siti Noor Dzuhairah binti Haji Damit; and around 100 members of the Pertiwi Association.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah followed by the recitation of Al-Quran verses led by Ustazah Hajah Fatimah binti Haji Ahmad, a member of the association. The ceremony ended with a Dikir Marhaban for the Khatam participants and the recitation of Doa Selamat.
The Khatam Al-Quran ceremony is part of the association’s annual religious activity to mark the closing ceremony upon completing two weeks of Tedarus sessions held previously at various Pertiwi Association members’ residences.
The event is aimed at fostering closer ties among members of the association as well as to encourage its members to recite the Al-Quran often in seeking blessings from Allah the Almighty.
