FIVE local entrepreneurs from the Mukim and Village Consultative Councils of Tutong District are participating in the One Village, One Product (1K1P) and handicraft exhibition organised by the Department of Prisons at The Airport Mall in Berakas.
Other participants showcasing their products in the three-day event which ends today include the Kg Sengkarai Village Consultative Council with their spices; Mukim Tanjong Maya Consultative Council with their Kelapa Dara Oil and ‘Madu Kelulut’; Kg Lamunin Village Consultative Council promoting its ‘Kuih Penyaram’ and other traditional and local food items; and Kg Merimbun Village Consultative Council promoting its handicraft items.
Siti Joriahati binti Johari, Special Duties Officer at the Tutong District Office, said in her capacity as the head of corporate division that the exhibition provides an opportunity for entrepreneurs from Tutong District to promote their products.
Siti Joriahati added that Mukim and Village Consultative Councils of Tutong District, through the Mukim and Village Institution Division and in collaboration with the Corporate Division of the Tutong District Office has launched a website, ‘Destination Tutong’, at www.tutongdestination.com to provide information on products produced by mukims and villages in the district.
The 1K1P initiative will also be conducting exhibitions for visitors to learn more about Tutong District and serve as a platform to showcase its more-than 30 attractive destinations and over 50 village products.
