THE Minister of Home Affairs, Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong attended a ceremony commemorating the 59th anniversary of the establishment of the Immigration and National Registration Department yesterday.
The ceremony – held at the Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah Mosque at Kampong Sungai Akar – began with a Sunnat Hajat prayer and Doa Kesyukuran, followed by Tahlil. It continued with the presentation of donations to the orphans of the department’s deceased officers and staff, as well as the presentation of the donation for the Mosque Construction Fund. The event concluded with mass Asar prayer.
The 59th anniversary of the establishment of the Immigration and National Registration Department will be marked with various programmes and events including religious, roadshow, sports and social activities aimed at strengthening the bond between officers and staff of the department and to give members of the public an understanding of the services the department offers.
Also present at the event were member of the Legislative Council, YB Pengiran Haji Ali bin Pengiran Maon; Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Abdul Mutalib bin Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yusof; deputy permanent secretaries; senior officers of the Ministry of Home Affairs and personnel of the Immigration and National Registration Department.
