THE Brunei Basketball Association said any basketball activity organised within the country must obtain endorsement or sanction from the association.
The Asean Basketball League and Brunei Cup, both major basketball events, are sanctioned by the association.
When asked about the Beruang Blazers team, who will compete in the EBL semi-professional basketball league in August, the association said that it had yet to endorse the team playing in the league.
The association, however, added that it welcomed the participation of local team in overseas competitions, saying that it was open to discussion with Beruang Blazers to resolve the situation.
