DARUSSALAM Holdings Sdn Bhd (DHSB), Brunei’s leading Haj operator, held a knowledge-sharing briefing for the benefit of this year’s batch of intending pilgrims for the 1438H/2017M Haj season who have registered with Darussalam Holdings.
The event was held at the Arts and Handicraft Training Centre in the capital, and featured a panel of speakers led by Haji Mahmud bin Haji Mohamed, the Managing Director of DHSB.
The briefing focused on what can be expected during the month-long Haj experience and the attendees were also given further advice on how to get the most of their holy journey during the pilgrimage, both spiritually and in terms of logistics and other management.
A total of 812 intended pilgrims will be using DHSB as their Haj operator this year from the overall total of 1,000-quota allocated for Brunei.
The seminar was also attended by First Admiral (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit, the Deputy Minister of Defence, as one of the intended pilgrims.
This year, Brunei will have four special flights to bring the intended pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.
The first batch will depart to Madinah on August 10.
Meanwhile, officials from Darussalam Holdings, including Managing Director Haji Mahmud (who will also be the head of delegations), will leave for Saudi Arabia at the end of this month to ensure that operations are all in place before the arrival of the pilgrims.
