YAYASAN Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (Yayasan) yesterday handed cash donation to several victims of recent house fire around the country.
In an interview, Hajah Ajijah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, who was representing her sister, one of the recipients, Nurlina binti Haji Mohd Salleh, expressed her thanks and relief for receiving the donation from Yayasan.
The donation to Nurlina was handed over at a ceremony at the residence of Haji Mohd Taib bin Jaludin, the Village Head of Kampong Pengkalan Mau and Kampong Bakiau in Tutong District.
Last June 22, the house of Nurlina in Kampong Pengkalan Mau was destroyed by fire, that claimed the life of her brother, Saiful Irwan bin Haji Mohd Salleh.
Nurlina is currently living with her sister, Hajah Ajijah in Kampong Pengkalan Mau.
Present to hand over the donation was Dato Paduka Eddie bin Dato Paduka Haji Sunny, Managing Director of Yayasan.
The presentation of donation is Yayasan’s continuous effort to ease the burden and help the welfare of people in need in this country.
Hajah Ajijah, on behalf of her sister thanked Yayasan for the gesture.
Also present during the ceremony was Haji Abdul Rahim bin Abdullah Yakin, Penghulu of Mukim Kiudang.
Yayasan also handed over cash donation in separate ceremonies to Haji Ibrahim bin Haji Daud and Md Daud bin Haji Amin from RPN Kampong Pandan in Belait District, and to Pengiran Haji Mustapa bin Pengiran Haji Ahmad from RPN Kampong Lambak Kanan in Brunei-Muara District.
