EXOSKELETONS, jet-packs and bionic eyes are among the main highlights of ‘Bionic Me,’ the latest exhibition hosted by the Oil and Gas Discovery Centre (OGDC).
Produced by Scitech Australia, the event saw 144 students and teachers from 17 schools attending the opening day.
Bionic Me was officially launched by Acting Permanent Secretary (Higher Education) at the Ministry of Education Dr Haji Azman bin Ahmad, together with OGDC Exhibition Head Nur Karnina binti Karim and OGDC Head Haji Irwandy bin Haji Lois.
The Scitech travelling exhibition, which runs until November, explores the inventive and ingenious medical and industrial breakthroughs that have helped to enhance the human experience, among them climbing into an exoskeleton for enhanced strength and seeing the world through the lens of a bionic eye.
Nur Karnina told the Bulletin that the exhibition is intended to get visitors thinking of the vast potential in technology, which can shape people’s experiences and interactions with the world.
OGDC is also set to host a preliminary Science Show competition in the coming week, as well as the ‘Explore-a-Saurus’ exhibition by Scitech Australia, featuring animatronic dinosaurs and complete fossils from the Cretaceous Period.
