THE Lof Cycling Challenge was held in Bandar Seri Begawan for the first time.
Yesterday’s seventh edition of the cycling challenge (7th Lof Cycling Challenge 2017) was organised in conjunction with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 71st birthday celebrations.
The Minister of Home Affairs Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong was at the ‘finish line’ at the Dermaga Diraja in Bandar Seri Begawan.
UPCT A’s Mohammad Radzi Tamat won the ‘Elite’ category of the 135km. Second place went to Muhammad Nor Risman Ismail of UPCT B and Sandey Morside from Laila Manja Cycling Team B was placed third.
In the ‘Master’ category of the 135km, Zulkifli took first place, while Muhammad Amali bin Abdullah Chin was runner-up and Mazran Jamin (UPCT A) third.
In the ‘Super Elite’ category of the 135km, Razif Salleh was champ. Second and third spots went to Aiei Shafri Rusli and Azmi Abdul Hadzid of Randonnee Cycling Team.
In the 100km ‘Women’ category, Christina Cheu Ying Fah was the fastest. Zahidah binti Jailani came in second and third was Nur Amal Nadhirah binti Abdul Rahim.
In the 100km ‘Veteran’ category, Tsen Yu Seng was victorious while Padsakom Thongprem ended as runner-up and Rozainie binti Haji Ratu in third place.
Mohd Habri Ibrahim was the best cyclist in the 100km ‘Novice’ category. Rustam Effendi bin Haji Minor Absah trailed in second and Mohamad Nur’Helmi bin Mohamad Sukain third.
UPCT A won the 135km ‘Team’ category with a total time of 11:09:10.47.
The runner-up went to Bros Cycling Project clocking 11:15:08.17 and third place, UPCT B (11:25:37.63).
