NEW York inspired Yellow Cab Pizza Co opened its first flagship store in Brunei yesterday. The Minister of Home Affairs, Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong officiated the event with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and unveiling of signage.

Located at Shakirin Complex in Kiulap, YTT Sdn Bhd is the franchise holder of Yellow Cab Pizza Co both in Brunei and East Malaysia. Their next plan is to enter Sarawak and Sabah market as well as Labuan within five years.

Yesterday’s opening began with a welcoming speech delivered by the Chairman of YTT Sdn Bhd, Dato Paduka Haji Harun bin Haji Ismail, who amongst all noted that their journey began with three friends who happened to be abroad and tasted the Yellow Cab Pizza.

Having liked the pizza served, it led them to negotiating with the CEO of Yellow Cab Pizza Co and Max’s Group, Peter King on how they could bring one of New York’s finest iconic foods to Brunei.

“These friends had absolutely no food and beverage industry experience but this was no barrier to them. They brought another two friends into the business, who also had no experience in the business and thanks to Peter’s foresight, he allowed these newbies to enter the business,” the chairman said.
