A FOUR-DAY job fair hosted by the Local Employment and Workforce Development Agency (APTK) under the Ministry of Home Affairs and KB Sentral Shopping Centre was launched yesterday in Kuala Belait.
Present to officiate the event as the guest of honour was Haji Pungut bin Ali, the Penghulu of Mukim Kuala Belait who complimented the organisers for giving the opportunity to the local jobseekers, especially in the Belait District, to be exposed to different careers outside of the oil and gas industry.
“For those who are looking for employment, it is best to not be picky with the career choices. If possible, just grab any vacancies available to gain experience first.”
“If we are too choosy, when will we get the job that we want if we don’t have enough experience? It’s just not realistic,” he added.
About 10 companies including two from KBSentral Properties Management as well as Garden Sentral Hotel will be participating in the event.
Tomorrow, the job fair will feature a motivational talk that will be presented by a senior educator Cikgu Ali Yusri bin Abdul Gapor from the Ministry of Education and also a talk by the Labour Department.
The motivational talk will commence at 2pm whilst the presentation by the Labour Department will take place at 3pm.
Visitors to the job fair are advised by the management of the Sentral Shopping Centre to bring along their identity cards, resume, or any other relevant documents.
